One of the most famous holidays in Italy is
Festa della Repubblica. Litteraly translated this means Republic Day. Republic Day is on June 2nd and it's celebrated by the Italians because it's the birthday of the Italian Republic. Each year on this day a large military parade is held in Rome. This holiday is similar to July 4th in which that July 4th is when Americans celebrate their independence.
This picture is a common sight to see at Republic Day. Each year, Italian military jets fly over the parade spraying the colors of the Italian flag in the air.
